The Artist took his brush and dipped its tip in cream and white
On the burnt sienna canvas He separated day from night
There was evening, there was morning, a masterpiece begun
Omnipotence unbridled –
Day One.
Dividing waters deep He wove a canopy above
Earth’s protective parasol painted with an artist’s love.
Cornflower, mauve and violet, a rhapsody in blue
He saw that it was good –
Day Two.
