A two-hander drama introducing a fuller treatment of the story of Christ"€™s birth. Can be either a curtain raiser to an informal community Christmas celebration or an extended "€˜Opening Sentence"€™ to a Carol Service.
Everybody knows that Heaven is "€œup"€ and Earth is "€œdown"€. But
that"€™s not quite right. The Throne Room of Heaven is "€œup"€, the rest of Heaven is "€œdown"€, and therefore Earth is, well, lower"€¦
In the drama the Archangel Michael, Butler to the Master of Heaven, responds swiftly to the sound of his name and finds himself in dialogue both with the young cherub who has called out in panic at having discovered "a hole in the heavens" and with his own memories"€¦
