Background:
As foster carers for our local authority my wife and I have looked after a number of children and in doing so our lives have been enriched as well as touched. I felt I wanted to give something back to fostering that would help raise the awareness of these children and also the fact that we are facing a shortage of foster carers in the UK. So I have co-written and produced the song 'Second Chance' which is performed by Nikita who went through the care system herself. It is her thoughts and memories of that experience that formed the lyrics of the song. She simply wanted to be loved and given a second chance in life, a home, a family. It reaches out to prospective carers asking the question,
"do you have love to give, the choice is yours but the need is mine".
This CD is an ideal resource for fostering & adoption campaigns by Fostering Agencies and Local Authorities. It is also ideal for social workers, foster carers, adoptive parents, those with connections to fostering and of course the children.
