THE WISE MAN’S STONE

A wise man who was travelling across the mountains of a sacred land found a precious stone in a stream. The next day he met a fellow traveller who was hungry, and the wise man opened his bag to share his food.
    The hungry traveller saw the precious stone and asked the man to give it to him. Much to the hungry man’s surprise, he did so without hesitation. The traveller left in high spirits – amazed at his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth
enough to give him security for the rest of his life.
    However, a few days later, the hungry man came back to return the stone to the wise man. ‘I’ve been thinking,’ he said. ‘I know how valuable this stone is, but I’m giving it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious. Give
me what you have within you that allowed you to give me this stone.’

The hungry man gave back the stone in the hope of getting something better.
What’s more important to you than wealth??
